The gathering at the heart of Chewstick. Music, poetry and storytelling bring first-time performers and established artists together, with a live band and an audience ready to listen.
The stage belongs to the people who step forward—and the room that welcomes them.
Our Open Mic grew out of the Neo-Griot Lounge and its belief that creative expression can help people understand themselves and each other. A first poem or an unfamiliar song has a place alongside an experienced performer.
Since 2022, monthly sessions at Blue Waters Anglers Club have helped sustain this gathering. Individual events may use other venues; check the latest announcement for the date, location and arrangements.
