IN REDEVELOPMENT · CREATIVE REHABILITATION
More than a sentence.
More than a conviction.
Convictions is Chewstick’s creative rehabilitation programme for incarcerated Bermudian men, using expression, reflection and connection to support accountability, growth and reintegration.

Expression as a pathway forward.
Dynamic, culturally relevant programming can reach people traditional interventions often leave behind.
Through writing, poetry, music, storytelling, performance and facilitated discussion, participants are supported in processing trauma, examining choices and consequences, developing pro-social behaviours, and strengthening communication, accountability and conflict-resolution skills.
Originally delivered at Westgate and the Co-Ed Correctional Facility, Convictions responds to the limited availability of consistent, engaging programming for a uniquely traumatised and underserved population affected by violence, gang involvement, social exclusion and restricted opportunity.
The programme is being redeveloped to combine regular creative workshops with monthly in-facility Open Mic events and stronger pathways into Chewstick’s community programmes following release—supporting positive connection, personal development and successful reintegration.
Reflection. Accountability. Reintegration.
