Formerly the Chewstick Community Art Program, Chewstick's Art Works Community Art Program brings artists, young people and neighbours together to tell Bermuda’s stories in public spaces. The new name reflects a simple belief: art works—it can honour people, celebrate living culture and transform shared spaces through collective creativity.

Chewstick’s Community Art Programme makes the creative process part of community life. People contribute their ideas and skills to work that reflects local identity, history and experience.

The programme grew from student painting in 2011 and public collaborations in 2012. Its projects have included personal tributes, community histories and cultural celebrations across Bermuda.

The Gombey mural series, created in collaboration with the Department of Culture at the Bermuda Gombey Festival, celebrates the troupes and traditions that continue to shape our island’s cultural life. Programme support helps cover artists, materials and opportunities for community participation.
