The Chewstick Foundation is at it again for their Heritage Day Parade and all the good vibes before and after the parade. The road is calling and begging for us to Mash it up with Positive, People, Paint. and Powder. MADNESS is forthcoming!!

This Friday night relax at the Chewstick Lounge with 3 Kings, reggae band. Jules, Aswad and Arijahknow Live Wires will treat the audience to a night filled with roots reggae and conscious lyrics all complimented by experienced musicians of the Kings’ Council Band, which includes James Richardson (on keys), Sid (on Bass) and Stephan Aknatin (on drums), guaranteed to deliver a stellar performance well into the night.

Support act, Olivia Hamilton will be a definite treat as her powerful voice and regal presence are a perfect introduction to a night bursting with talent.


The 3 Kings have graced many stages across the island for a number of years. Paul Smith, Bermuda’s most energetic, modern and inspired pannist will be performing on the Chewstick stage, with De Onion Patch Crew, a band made of some of Bermuda’s most talented musicians the show is guaranteed to inspire and open your eyes. Support act Rivah will ease the audience in with his roots reggae vibes as a compliment to the tinkling chimes of the pan.

The Chewstick Foundation has a special treat with King Somner on Saturday, May 3rd. This talented, die hard Bermudian storyteller, rebel and experimental lyricist will be holding his debut show 8p.m.; he’ll share the story of his art, his journey and life observations. Opening act Haile Griot will bring some knowledge and stoic reality to the night before King Somner wows the audience with his mix of spoken word and song. Tickets are $10, for an evening that should not be missed as King Somner is an amazingly emotive performer with a definitive Bermy flair.

King Somner has been sharing his talents for a number of years having accompanied the Chewstick collective on both their 2010 and 2011 tours. He was also a part of the D.I.A. band and has since branched out on his own to develop a new style of music that is uniquely Bermudian, dynamic and unpredictable. The Chewstick Foundation strives to spotlight artists, inviting them to tell their individual stories and expound on their motivations and is excited to have these amazing talents taking over the lounge this weekend to celebrate new insights into the different forms of performance, expression and culture to break down barriers, bring people together and inspire others to share their voices as well.
