Three times a year, The Chewstick Foundation hosts immersive island retreats designed to help people learn, connect, unwind, and get inspired while enjoying the incredible beauty of Bermuda.

Each retreat offers a safe, family-friendly space filled with creativity, community building, workshops, games, and time to recharge away from daily life.

What’s Included

Your retreat package includes:

Participants can also enjoy activities like bocce (Chewstick’s official game), fishing, hair braiding, and creative sharing circles.

We sleep in shared dorm-style accommodations on the islands to build community and vibes, however If you prefer more privacy or to be even closer to nature, you may bring a tent and that is perfectly fine.

Workshops

Learning from each other on the Retreat

Participants can lead 1.5–2 hour workshops sharing skills, knowledge, or passions in a supportive environment. Anyone attending may submit a workshop idea when registering if your workshop is selected you will receive a discounted retreat rate of 40%.

If you’d like to lead a session check out these points, if you’re into it, include a brief description in the sign up form, we will let you know as soon as possible if yours has been accepted.

Limited Spaces

Only about 30 participants can attend each retreat, creating an intimate and powerful community experience.

A sample schechule can be found here, take a peek! Boat departure takes place Friday evening, with return Sunday afternoon. Sign-ups can be made by filling out the form.

We sleep in doors on bunk beds, community style, but if there is a problem or you wish a bit more privacy, participants can opt to bring a tent.

Participant Expectations

All Chewstick Foundation Retreat participants are expected to uphold the spirit and mission of the organization: bringing people together in a safe, supportive space to connect through storytelling, creative expression, and collaboration. Throughout the retreat, participants are asked to embody Chewstick’s four pillars, Respect, Freedom, Love, and Truth,by treating others with dignity, openness, and care. Discrimination or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated, and all participants should honor each person’s identity, experiences, and right to self-expression.

Those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian to attend. By joining the retreat, participants agree to contribute positively to a respectful, inclusive, and inspiring community experience and will be required to sign and commit to the Retreat Code of Conduct.

Pay It Forward

Past participants and/or supporters of the Chewstick Foundation or the ethos of the Retreat Program can sponsor a participant or contribute toward a subsidy for someone who may not be able to afford the full retreat fee ($250). Your support can make a life-changing experience possible.
