Healthy Living at T.W.I.G.S. & Open Mic hosted by the Bermuda Diabetes Association
In recognition of Diabetes Awareness month, The Bermuda Diabetes Association will take over The Chewstick Lounge this Saturday, November 10th and Sunday November 11th with messages for healthy living. The Bermuda Diabetes Association has a mission to lead the Bermuda community to reduce the prevalence of diabetes and improve the lives of those affected. Alongside The Chewstick Foundation’s focus on empowering storytelling creative expression and social justice to enrich youth, arts, culture and community, participants will be encouraged to share their approach to healthy living while being presented with the stories of representatives from both the organizations.
Dr Annabel Fountain will be attending on Sunday evening and is interested to hear different ideas and perspectives from the Jam Session and of course answer questions if needed. She is particularly pleased that Chewstick is helping to reach out to Bermuda’s Youth and the community to promote healthy living which is so important to the future health of Bermuda. Both, the T.W.I.G.S. Youth Open Mic on Saturday and the Open Mic Jam Session on Sunday will have a theme of healthy living and encourage presenters to address the prevalence of disease, conscious living and how they approach the ideals of a healthy lifestyle Buzz will be providing healthy snacks for both evenings and representatives of the Bermuda Diabetes Association will be on hand to provide links to resources that may enhance quality of life. The chilled out energy mixed with insightful lyrics and delicious food will make for an enjoyable night. Stick around on Sunday for an After Party wth DJ’s Kid Fresh and TanZ, Monday’s a holiday and we’ll be energized from all the healthy snacks …
This will be a venture into sharing experiences and advice on healthy living while learning about positivity and healthy lifestyles.
